We know how stressful it can be to send money and wonder if the other person will follow through. That’s why goConfirm includes a built-in safety feature called Payment Loss Protection (PLP) to help give you peace of mind when you're buying something from another verified user.
Here’s how it works, and what you need to do to be eligible.
✅ What is Payment Loss Protection?
If you pay someone after connecting through goConfirm, coordinating your transaction, and exchanging payment methods in the app, and they disappear, you may be eligible to get your money back up to $250 USD.
This is meant to help protect against ghosting or other forms of fraud after payment. It doesn't apply to item quality or disputes over condition just outright non-delivery.
🛠️ How to Use It
To be covered by PLP, follow these steps:
- Get Verified and Connect
First, both you and the other person need to be verified goConfirm users. Connect using their goCode inside the app — this step is essential. - Get Their Payment Handle in the App
Once you’re connected, make sure they share their payment info with you inside goConfirm. If the payment handle came from outside the app, the transaction won’t be covered. - Pay Using That Info
Send your payment to the handle they gave you through goConfirm. Keep a screenshot of the transaction. - (If Needed) Report Fraud Quickly
If something goes wrong and they don’t deliver, tap “Report Fraud” in your connection within 48 hours. You’ll be guided through next steps and asked for a few things:- Proof of payment (e.g. screenshots)
- Any messages you exchanged (including from outside the app)
- A police report if requested
- We’ll Investigate
Our team will review the case. If it qualifies, we’ll compensate you directly up to the eligible limit.
🚫 What’s Not Covered
- Disputes over quality or condition
- Items not shipped with tracking (for physical goods)
- Payments sent outside of goConfirm or without verified messaging
- Repeat claims against the same user
🧠 Quick Tips
- Always get the payment handle through the app.
- Save your proof of payment and messages.
- Act fast if something feels off. Reporting within 48 hours is required.
